Alyce Kemp DeWitt Award: This award recognizes a volunteer whose creativity and passion have made a measurable impact on United Way of the Midlands. The 2007 award was given to Moss Blachman at Community Assembly on June 3, 2008.
Campaign Awards: These awards recognize companies running outstanding workplace campaigns. Awards given out include Shining Stars, Best of Class, Merit Awards, Premier Awards, Gold, Silver and Bronze awards and the Community Champion Award. These companies were recognized at the Campaign Celebration on January 29, 2008.
Community Impact Awards: These awards were presented at the Community Assembly on June 3, 2008 to five different recipients for their outstanding contributions to helping people in the Midlands.
Humanitarian of the Year Award: This award is given each year to an individual or couple who clearly demonstrate extraordinary leadership in philanthropic and human services. Highly selective criteria make it the single honor of philanthropic achievement in the Midlands. Among other criteria, nominees must provide outstanding leadership working with others over a sustained period. The 2007 recipients, Suzan D. Boyd and M. Edward Sellers, were recognized on February 21, 2008.
LIVE UNITED Volunteer Award: Even if you are aware that United Way of America recently launched its LIVE UNITED campaign, you may still be wondering what it means to actually "LIVE UNITED." It's a credo. A mission. A goal. But more, it is a command. To give, advocate and volunteer in order to improve the lives of everyone. Seven LIVE UNITED Awards were given at Community Assembly on June 3, 2008 to people who not only understand what it means to Live United, but demonstrate it every day.
